Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Cheers to Bardstown Makes for a Big Weekend of Live Music

I’m like a kid in a candy store this weekend! Bardstown and it’s surrounding areas are celebrating 2 big events this weekend. Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Cheers to Bardstown. There are a ton of Bourbon centric activities and so much live music, it’s going to hard to decide where to start. All of your favorite artists are in town and it’s going to be an amazing weekend.

In my National Bourbon Week post, I told you the Old Fashioned is my favorite Bourbon cocktail. A close second is the Kentucky Mule. The Kentucky Mule is a delicious blend of Bourbon, Ginger Beer & Lime with a mint sprig and a lime wheel as a garnish. But the real secret to this refreshing cocktail is the cup. A proper Kentucky Mule and frankly a Mule of any kind, should be served in a copper mug! I hate to sound like a cocktail snob but it’s just a fact that the cup makes the drink taste even better. I’m so adamant about it that when I walk into a bar or restaurant and I don’t see copper mugs behind the bar, I won’t even order a Mule. They simply do not taste the same in plastic or glass and the copper keeps your drink ice cold for a longer period of time. Go out and order a Kentucky Mule this weekend, make a toast to Bardstown and Kentucky Bourbon and enjoy. You will be glad you did.
