About Musicwanderlust

I’ve always loved music but really got into the live music scene in 2015, when I went to a music festival with my teenaged son. I had been to some small concerts, had friends who were singers/musicians and loved listening to them play live, but something about the experience of FEELING the music live with thousands of other music fans ignited a passion in me for all types of live music.

My husband of 25 years had suddenly passed away and music became my respite. I started going to local venues and listening to as many live artists as my busy schedule allowed. I met my best friend (now husband), and we bonded over music and our shared life experiences. I got to know artists and venue owners and found that the artists usually didn’t promote where they were playing until the night of the show. The venues where they played (bars/restaurants, distilleries, or wineries) didn’t advertise the artists until a couple of days before they played so the fans had made other plans or didn’t know the artist was playing at all.

I heard the frustrations of the artists, venues and fans then decided it would be my passion project to get the word out for them. With the encouragement of my family and friends I created my website, musicwanderlust.com as a platform to promote local artists and venues in the south-central Kentucky area that feature live music. This website contains local artists upcoming show dates, venue events and fun spotlights and interviews. You can also find me on Instagram and Facebook.
